Donovan is the President of Springfield Music, and has worked hard to position Springfield Music along with four other co-owned music retail stores to be fun, full service experiences for customers throughout Missouri and the surrounding states. He is highly-involved in the music industry, can often be found speaking at area universities, NAMM or NASMD, and is a bass guitarist and trumpet player. In addition to his tireless dedication to the music business, Donovan is a dedicated husband and father of two.

Austin Handley

School Services Manager

Austin Handley, a Springfield native and true Ozarkian, is Springfield Music's School Service Coordinator. He has over 30 years musical experience, immersing himself in a variety of instruments from string to percussion, as well as exercising his talents through his vocal abilities. He began his musical adventures at six, playing piano, advancing to choir and violin just three years later, learning guitar at age 11 and topping off his instrumental repertoire with drums at age 13.

As an adult, Austin went on to study studio recording with Justin Risley and Jim Wirt at 4th Street Studios in Santa Monica, CA. His early musical pursuits paid off, and as a young adult and he began touring with Hurry Sundown, performing over 200 shows a year at venues like Tootsie”s Orchid Lounge in Nashville and the Andy Williams Theater in Branson. His musical influences include Led Zeppelin, the Allman Brothers and Doc Watson. Austin has now settled down, focusing his efforts on the operations of Springfield Music and its affiliated companies. Outside of the music store, Austin can be found relaxing at his second home in Cape Fair, slaying Crappie and Bluegill.

To know Mitch is to love him. We know this because he tells us this all of the time. Seriously, Mitch has been the face of Springfield Music for nearly twenty years. Originally starting with sales, he then became store manager for over a decade, and is now in charge of Sales & Marketing for our entire company.

Paul Schmidt

Repair Manager

Paul Schmidt is the repair shop manager at Springfield Music Company based in Springfield, Missouri. Upon completing a degree in music at Missouri State University in 1990, he began repairing band instruments and serving as a school service representative at a local music store in Springfield. Mr. Schmidt is noted for his work with college music education programs and school in-service workshops presenting repair techniques and emergency tips. He recently presented at the 2017 MMEA conference on repairing in the classroom. Throughout the year you can find him at various marching band competitions, regional meetings, and numerous universities in Kansas and Missouri helping educators and students learn proper maintenance and repairs. One of Paul’s specialties is redesigning musical instruments to help students and adults with disabilities so they can enjoy making music again.

Dan is a veteran of the music industry with over 30 years sales and business management experience. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Ernie Williamson Music team. Music is his passion, and he plays almost every instrument in the store. Dan grew up in the Lake of the Ozarks area, and has opened shows for artists as diverse as REO Speedwagon, Charlie Daniels, Air Supply and everything in between. Currently, he and his wife Denise have a music duo known as The Double D, and play in the St. Louis area quite often, along with tribute shows to the Eagles, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Seger.

Tony is the go-to guy for the "ins and outs" of Fazio's.

He joined the crew in 2006 after leaving Vandelay Industries to head up the importing/exporting operations of both the store and website. Tony first worked in the music business at his father's store, Marks Music from 1988-1999. Tony's careful attention to detail makes him an essential element in upholding the Fazio's philosophy that every instrument we sell has passed a thorough inspection and is in perfect working order. He also enjoys long walks on the beach and he has a cat.

David Sedlock

David is a musician, educator, and long time music lover. He has experience teaching privately and in the public school system, he even has experience in the music retail world as well. He studied at University of Missouri - St. Louis and earned his Bachelor’s in Music Education in 2020. Trumpet is his main instrument, currently playing trumpet with the St. Louis Wind Symphony but does play all brass instruments. He’s also found himself playing drums, guitar, clarinet, and flute throughout many ensembles, even singing with the Ambassadors of Harmony! He plays any and all styles too, specifically Wind Ensemble repertoire but can be found fumbling through some jazz tunes as well. Some players and ensembles that have influenced him (which span many genres) are Sean Jones, Sergei Nakariakov, Wayne Bergeron, Cory Wong, and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra. He is excited to help band directors build their programs in the St. Louis area with the diverse experience he has!

Denise is a retired school teacher and has been with Ernie Williamson Music since 2014. Around here, she's known as "The Ukulele Lady", and would love to help you with your musical needs. Along with her husband Dan, they play music together as the duo The Double D. She is a talented guitarist, published author and real estate agent. She helps out at the store whenever she can, and is a great team member here at Ernie Williamson Music!

Daron joins Fazio’s with over 20 years of repair and restoration experience with woodwind and brass instruments. Daron earned his Bachelor of Arts in Saxophone Performance and then went on to earn his Masters of Arts in Music Education from Lindenwood University

As a Saxophonist, Daron has performed in eight countries throughout Europe, Asia and Central America and all over the United States with multiple diverse bands sharing the stage with Jazz greats such as Randy Brecker and legendary Jazz Hall of Fame member, Clark Terry.

While in his last year of his graduate studies, Daron secured an apprenticeship with Master woodwind and brass repair technicians, Marvin Kranz and Bill Meyers. Over the next four years, Daron worked and studied under the tutelage of Marvin and Bill to gain his superior knowledge and precise skills of instrument repair and restoration.

Over the past two decades, Daron’s musical and repair skills have continued to advance significantly in the ever evolving band instrument repair industry. Daron is not only able to diagnose and repair common everyday woodwind and brass issues; he has also mastered and completed advance restoration techniques.

He has married years of time tested repair techniques to the advancing technology of the present day to provide the customer a superior service product that will not only meet, but exceed their expectations.

Parker gained an interest in music after watching his father perform gigs and leading worship at his local church. His father started teaching Parker piano at a young age, then began teaching him guitar shortly thereafter. His inspiration came from 90's rock bands and blues music. Parker quickly advanced as a guitarist and became immersed in music theory courses. He began writing songs, and is expanding into recording, mixing and mastering his own work as well. With an extensive knowledge of the fretboard and a genuine passion for music, Parker looks forward to sharing his passion for music with his students.

Michael Cosentino is a classically trained guitarist with 18 years of experience in a variety of musical styles. He started his studies under John Mcclellan at the St. Louis Symphony Music School and continued to earn a BM of music performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music where he studied with John Holmquist and Jason Vieaux. He has also performed in master classes with Ben Verdery, Stantley Yates, William Kanengiser, Carlos Barbosa Lima, Scott Tenennt, Antigoni Goni, Elena Papandreou, Steven Aaron, and David Russell. He has also performed though out most of the United States with numerous rock bands since 1993.

Currently the only Suzuki guitar teacher in the St. Louis area. Certified in Books 1-3.

Post-graduate certification in the Advanced Studies Program: Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

Master’s degree in Classic Guitar Performance at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville; honors included a Competitive Graduate Award.

Bachelor’s degrees in Spanish Literature, Music Theory and Composition and Guitar Performance at SIUE.

Ten years of study in Barcelona, Spain including: classic guitar, music theory, sight singing, Spanish language, printmaking, figure drawing, color theory, graphic design, and studio art. Private guitar study with Eduardo Sainz de la Maza and Maria Luisa Anido plus master classes with José Tomás and Emilio Pujol.

Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and English Literature at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois.

Bill Davis is one of Fazio’s long-standing instructors, passing his 15-year anniversary with us in 2021. A very versatile musician and teacher of all guitar styles, he studied music and jazz studies. When not teaching at Fazio’s, Bill can be seen tearing up the St. Louis music scene with his band Unifyah. A great guy!

Meet Ben DeClue of Fazio's Music teaching staff. Ben DeClue has been playing guitar for over a decade, and he also plays bass guitar, ukulele, and piano. He is heavily influenced by progressive metal, jazz, punk, and ska. He graduated with an associate degree from St. Louis Community College in May of 2019. After having studied music theory at STLCC, he has spent much time exploring the topics of extended harmony and mode mixture on his own in efforts to completely understand what exactly makes jazz and R&B music so magical and dreamy.

Emma Vedder is a music therapy student at Maryville University. She has been playing piano since she was five years old. Emma started playing by ear and began taking lessons when she was six. She enjoys playing classical music and popular songs, as well as fiddling around with jazz music and composing. While her first love will always be piano, Emma also enjoys playing guitar and ukulele.

Music has always been a big part of Ani's life. She's played Piano since 2004 and has played Clarinet since 2006. She was heavily involved in her high school band with clarinet and contra alto clarinet, jazz band with piano, and her church’s music programs. She graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Music Degree focusing on Piano at Central Methodist University in 2019 and has taught piano privately before and during college. When not doing anything musical, you can either find her outside, cooking, or sewing.

I have been playing guitar since 2008, and saxophone since 2007. My career in music is largely based on the pure simple enjoyment of playing. I liked playing the guitar so much that I decided to focus my training on guitar while attending Central Methodist University to become a Band Director, making saxophone my primary for band and guitar a primary for lessons and jazz. I graduated in 2018 with a Bachelors of Music Education and can’t wait to be the best music instructor I can be.

Mario has been playing guitar since 1973. He plays a variety of styles. He studied classical form for two years with John Grimes. Music has always been an integral part of Mario ‘s life. Mandolin and harmonica are also on Mario‘s repertoire. He looks forward to interacting with students and helping them achieve their musical goals!

Music is such a big important part of Mia’s life. Mia has been playing the flute since 2015, and then moved on to play saxophone and baritone. She graduated from Eureka High School and is currently attending St. Louis Community College. When she's not practicing music or teaching others, you can often find Mia outside working color guard. Mia is looking forward to helping you get started or advancing on your instrument!

Brianna Carter graduated from East Central College with an Associates of Arts degree in Music. She went on to receive her Bachelors of Science degree in Music Therapy. Brianna is proficient in clarinet, guitar, piano, and voice. Music is a great passion of her’s, as well as seeing progress in her students. Outside of teaching, you may find Brianna hiking, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with her family and fiancé.

Patrick Downey

Patrick Downey was born and raised in St. Louis, MO and attended Parkway schools. He first played the drums when he was 7 years old, but didn’t begin playing in earnest until he was 13. He is largely self-taught, but studied with Brett Voelker and then later ErnieWilliamson’s own Rich Hensley. He has performed at several prominent St. Louis venues, playing with acts embarked on nationwide tours. Along with live performances, he has spent time recording in a professional studio. His main drumming influences consists of drummers such as Keith Moon, Barrimore Barlow, Neil Peart, Joshua Eppard, Travis Barker, Mike Portnoy, Chris Pennie, Phil Collins, Blake Richardson, and Carter Beauford. His greatest musical influence, however, is his family - having always supported his love of music and introducing him to much of the music he enjoys most.

Outside of music, Patrick enjoys reading, writing, and all things soccer - being a particularly avid fan of Manchester United. He is currently learning to cook - which has yielded mixed results. He has a cat named Link, after the character from The Legend of Zelda video games.

Patrick is excited to teach at ErnieWilliamson’s, and looks forward to helping musicians develop their own style and voice on the drums.

Hans Mohr is a graduate of Lindenwood University with a BA in Music Business. Born and raised in St. Louis he is a multi-instrumentalist with piano being his primary instrument. Hans also teaches guitar, bass along with drum set. Jazz piano is his musical passion, but can play and teach multiple genres. He runs and coaches cross-country running, as well as records music.

Ashley McFarland is a Music Therapy student at Maryville University, and has her associates degree in music from Jefferson College. She plays a wide variety of instruments that she has learned in her last 12 years as a musician. These instruments include: flute, clarinet, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, guitar, and piano!

Harrison Benner

As a music instructor, Harrison specializes in electric and acoustic guitar, bass, and ukulele. Since 2015, Harrison has been teaching students in private and group environments, many of whom would go on to perform live. He has performed in numerous music groups in live venues and was a group leader for 3 years in his music student organization in college at SIU in Carbondale, IL. Harrison's core belief is in making music accessible and fun for all skill levels and all ages.
