Larry has been playing and performing as a musician since the age of 7. His father was a well known Country guitarist in Kansas City, and taught him the basics. Larry learned much by sitting in on jam sessions hosted by his father with some very accomplished players. Larry played in bands starting at age 12, and all through school. He played in Jazz Bands in high school, and studied jazz, funk, and rock. He has performed in every setting imaginable from clubs to churches to wedding receptions.
In the 70′s he took lessons from a local jazz guitar instuctor named John Theis. He has compiled many hours on creating a comprehensive and methodical approach to teaching, and is in the process of writing a series of books on the topic.
