Product Description
2023 Taylor Custom C24ce AA Koa Grand Auditorium
You are viewing a truly unique custom from Taylor Guitars. The Koa wood on this guitar is built on the Grand Auditorium body shapes and is the preferred body shape for many players. Its medium size allows it to fit almost every customer and is known to have the projection of a dreadnought body shape. It is strung up with light gauges strings that allow players to fingerpick the guitar or play lead and have the ability to bend the notes a whole step or more. Its applications are endless which makes it a favorite at the shop. Hawaiian Koa is a gorgeous tone wood that has tiger strip flames on top of a luscious golden palette. Its beauty mesmerized everyone who looks at it and is not only a great sounding tone wood, but if hung on a wall, turns into a work of art. On top of its looks, tonally, it has a very wide frequency range that is balanced across the board. It has a unique trait in that over time, it will open up on the bass side and further expand the lower-end range. When you add Koa as a top wood, it bumps up the mid-range frequency and also adds an extra bell-like chime on the treble side. You'll find Hawaiian Koa all over this guitar, the top, back, and sides, and also on the peghead.
The custom was designed to be a work of art that functions as a guitar. On stage, it will demand attention from all in attendance. The guitar is bound in East Indian Rosewood that features a hand-carved beveled armrest. This armrest is only possible by the best craft people that Taylor Guitars has. The purfling and rosette showcases Paua Abalone which is sandwiched between Hawaiian Koa and African Ebony and is hand inlaid into the guitar. The inlay on the fretboard features a unique inlay called Sea Forest Vine and uses Paua abalone and Hawaiian Koa. This inlay is only offered on Custom Catch Guitars and is not available within the standard custom options. The guitar comes equipped with the Expression System 2 and includes TaylorSense as an added bonus.
This guitar was purchased at the 2023 NAMM dealer-only event and was the actual guitar on display. Every year Taylor Guitars showcases a selection of Custom guitars that feature options you cannot get from their standard custom shop options. This provides a truly custom experience. These options include unique tonewoods, inlays, bridge pins, rosette designs, and custom tuning buttons.
