The Fender Meteora started life as what would have been a limited-run entry in their Alternate Reality series. When it sold out almost immediately, Fender looked at the fresh-from-scratch, space-age body design and realized that this was a guitar that was more than just a temporary fantasia. One of the key features for the Fender Player Plus Meteora is the addition of Fireball humbuckers. These powerful pickups pack a serious punch while in humbucking mode, but a quick push of the coil-split button concealed in the volume knob's S-1 switch puts you in the funky land of classic single-coil sounds. The Fireball is designed to deliver ample output for high-gain players while maintaining dynamics for mid-to-low gain, and all without any loss of string-to-string clarity. It helps bring a unique voice to match Meteora's unique look.

A fast, comfortable neck

The Fender Player Plus Meteora has a neck designed for modern players who like fast, comfortable and easy-to-play. Starting with the popular Modern C profile, Fender flattened the fingerboard to a bend and speed friendly 12" radius. Then they gently roll the edges of the fingerboard for added comfort. By widening the nut by a barely perceptible .035", intricate picking styles become easier and smoother. And, invisible to you, carbon graphic Posiflex rods work with the standard truss rod to add stability to the neck, regardless of climate shifts or string gauge changes. It's a neck that will get your heart beating in time with the guitar.

One of the most in-demand Fender features is the synchronized tremolo bridge, that bridge is an essential part of the Player Plus Meteora's magic. With the iconic 2-point fulcrum bridge plate and high-mass, steel-block saddles, you get stability and sustain combined with extreme precision. That stability is nailed down with the addition of Fender's locking tuners and a self-lubricating synthetic bone nut.
