EUPHONIUM MOUTHPIECES
There are very few brands making mouthpieces for Euphonium. When we designed our mouthpieces we took into account all of the know deficiencies and used all the tricks up our sleeves to make players' lives easier.
CUP DIAMETERS
S: 25.40mm
MS: 25.70mm
M: 26.00mm
ML: 26.30mm
L: 26.60mm
VL 27.00mm
Throat diameter is 7.2mm throat on all models, slightly smaller than the typical Denis Wick 7.4mm
This is meant to make articulation and high notes easier to achieve.
BACKBORES
There are 3 sizes available:
Small
Medium
Large
The smaller the backbore the tighter is the feel but also the more focused is the sound and slots are more stable.
Larger backbores give a broader sound, more open feel and notes can be bent more easily.
SHANKS
There are 4 shanks available, the typical Besson Prestige kind, the Small one for cheap Yamaha models, the European kind (slightly smaller than the Besson one) and the German kind, mostly for German-style baritone instruments.
Be sure to tell us what kind of instrument you play when ordering.
The idea behind these mouthpieces is to make them easier to play because of the smaller throat but potentially bigger in sound and definitely more in tune than what is normally available on the market.
The experience acquired with thousands of mouthpieces for trombone made it rather easy to find something that fixes the typical problems with more well known brands, by designing backbores which have an unusual rate of taper inside.
