This Martin Custom 7-String is in excellent to near-mint condition with hardly any signs of play. A wonderfully unique instrument inspired by the legendary “McGuinn style,” this guitar was designed to capture the iconic jangle and clarity that defined an era of American music.

James Roger McGuinn, best known as the frontman and leader of The Byrds, commissioned Martin years ago to build a custom 7-string that combined the shimmering jangle of a 12-string—focused on the added G string—with the speed, power, and projection of a D-18. This guitar was built with that exact concept in mind, delivering articulate chime, strong fundamental notes, and exceptional balance.

Featuring a bear claw spruce top with forward-shifted Golden Era scalloped bracing and mahogany back and sides, this instrument offers outstanding responsiveness and vintage-inspired tone. Premium materials, traditional appointments, and a comfortable neck profile make this a truly inspiring and collectible Martin custom build.
